The Goose Creek quilt block is an alternating nine patch and square in a square quilt blocks. Typically it is easier to alternate blocks with the same grid, but in this case the nine patch works well with the 2 by 2 grid square in a square. Even though this is a very scrappy quilt block, you can see 2 distinct groups of fabric, light and dark.
